The New Civil Rights Movement

The new civil rights movement has begun. There were protests in over 300 US cities and college campuses over the last year barely covered by corporate controlled media. Indict the corporate state of corruption and those who aid and abet it by redistributing money upwards on the backs of the middle class, workers, and poor to the detriment of our nation. Our republic is in peril and short of revolution only reform can save it now. In our electronic Internet Age, we should have…

Adjunct Faculty Union Established by Reid Friedson at Indian River State College Spearheads National Movement

The Adjunct Faculty Union (AFU) was established by Reid Friedson at Indian River State College on July 9, 2013. In a few short months, the AFU has spread across Florida, thirty-two (32) of the United States of America, Canada, Ireland, England, India, Chile, and the Philippines.

Although the AFU pays special attention to Florida, the old Southern slave states, the American Heartland, and the worst abusers of adjunct labor, the AFU is taking direct action to organize and advocate…

Congressman Murphy’s (D-FL) Jobs Plan Must Stand for Labor, the Environment, and Education

I have read my Congressman Patrick Murphy’s (D-FL) Jobs Plan. My question is: In Congressman Murphy's district, why is 75% of the faculty at Indian River State College (IRSC) making about the lowest rate of pay in the Florida state college system---$1608 gross for four (4) months of work? Then, why is the Florida state college system in general the lowest paying higher education system in the United States of America? Basically, Congressman, why are 75% of the professors at Indian River…

Adjunct Professors: The New Public Intellectuals

Adjunct professors are the face of a new movement of public intellectuals. 75% of America’s college professors are adjuncts who receive starvation wages. Adjuncts make less money than Wal-Mart employees so few have time to publish. Numerous studies indicate adjuncts are very good at their job. In fact, numerous scholarly studies indicate Adjuncts are often much better teachers than many of their full-time tenured colleagues.

Yet, adjuncts do not have a proportional share in…

Revolt at Indian River State College (IRSC) Plantation---Adjunct Faculty Union (AFU) Established By Reid Friedson on July 9, 2013

“I’d have freed a lot more if they had only known they were slaves.”

---Harriet Tubman: Moses of the Underground Railroad

At Indian River State College (IRSC), I was assigned six (6) classes to teach. I asked what I have to…

What Republican Virtue and the Tea Party Really Represents in American History---and It's Not Mitt Romney!

While Romney was governor of Mass, the state ranked 48th in small jobs creation. Then there is his record of out-sourcing jobs to China, hiding his money in the Caymans, and his leadership on Medicare theft from the government and sick old people. Romney is not a patriot; he is tea bag who should be tarred and feathered and thrown in Boston Harbor. Greedy Tories like Romney lost all their property and wealth in the American Revolution to people who invested in…

Long Island to Boca---Exposing Romney's Lies Again (2012)

I lived on Long Island as a boy. I learned to love history reading about the American Revolutionaries in 1976---the bicentential of our Declaration of Independence.

I came to admire the civic virtues of our democratic republic as a boy running the woods of Long Island and Catskills Mountains. Then I moved to Boca---Boca Raton, Florida in 1978. The shallow materialism and greed of Boca was shocking.

New Yorkers are well-known for their brash honesty. You could…

Romney: Nincompoop or Pathological Evil Genius?

Neither the moderator nor Obama challenged the previous versions of Romney and they are all very different. There are so many things he said last nite that are not at all true. I felt like I was watching Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Was that really Obama and Romney on stage? I think they were both in pods or something.

Obama is President Because of Reid Friedson of Florida

Reid Friedson registered over 400 voters in Florida for Obama in 2008. It was the only state Obama won in the Deep South. Will President Obama win the vital swing state of Florida again in 2012? He will if Reid Friedson helps him. We have to keep a close eye in this election on Florida Governor Rick Scott and his staff. This guy should be in federal prison along with Romney for the millions of dollars the two of them have stolen from the federal government and sick old people who needed…

If Obama Does Not Move Left Fast...

...he will lose his liberal-progressive base in 2012. Voters are more important than campaign donors.
